My first and most tedious piece of my junior year I titled Tito-Trunks-Purple, a name that calls upon the lavender-haired character from the classic anime Dragon Ball Z and one of my own many aliases. I call myself Incognito Tito because I truly am the opposite of incognito; loud, boisterous, and sometimes unknowingly obnoxious. The refined me in my head is far more lowkey, and I wanted that emotion to come across in this piece. The color lavender is very prominent in my life as well as the flower, and signifies relaxation and calmness. Amethyst is a lavender colored crystal, and I adorn myself in an amethyst necklace everyday as one of my protection rituals. It is said to denote purity.
I struggled with the detail of this painting, and spent much time trying to perfect things like the curve of my nose and glint in my eye which left little thought to the background. To me, that is the sole downfall, as this is the first time I’ve seen such progression in my shading skills.
